How to install ceramic tile

Laying Ceramic Tile

Expect a few tiles to be stubborn... but for the most part the scraper was all I needed.

Ok, all the old tiles have been removed, with the exception of the ones directly under the toilet bowl. I decided to leave the toilet in place as long as possible, or I should say to have the toilet unusable for as little as possible. I also want to consider when I do pull the toilet out to tile underneath, i may run into plumbing issues. So, I need to have some spare time set aside for problems if and when they occur.

Had a heavy duty floor scraper in the garage so I thought I would use it to clear the floor of any chunks of debris. It was much easier on my back than crawling around with a small scraper.... and it worked great!

Using the spacers in between the ceramic tiles I laid out the tiles in a way that gave me the least amount of difficult cuts. Like this outside corner...which would mean an inside corner cut for a piece of tile. I also don't want to end up with a very small piece running along one of the walls.
